Monday Monday

First off, here is a smile for you.

Crack me up. :)

If you have a couple of minutes and REALLY want a good laugh, "The Terrible and Wonderful Reasons Why I Run Long Distances" is awesome. Super awesome. What he writes is hilarious, and the cartoons are great.

Here is how I spent my Sunday morning yesterday...

This was followed by church with the family and then a nice Sunday afternoon/evening.  It was a really good long run and my splits were very even throughout. More fuel on the fire. :)

This week we are back to swim and read for the elementary kids, soccer, football, jobs for the older kids, etc. etc. etc. and two of the girls are at our church's girls' camp for the week (there was much excitement this morning as they were getting ready to go). We are all counting down until the first week of August because my little brother is coming from NY for just over a week (yay!) and it is our county fair, which is a BIG deal here (and tons of fun). I am trying NOT to count down to August 25, which is when my oldest is moving into her college dorm. Ack!

Running is going well - I am getting into the "meat" of the training plan. I hit 90 miles this week and there are multiple triple digit weeks ahead. I am at that point where you put your head down and do the work, and take it one day at a time. I love being able to feel my body getting stronger, leaner, faster.

I have a HUGE giveaway post coming up. I decided to fundraise for Girls Gotta Run Foundation  through the Chicago Marathon. I already had an entry, but I am on the board for GGRF and think this is a great opportunity to raise money for an awesome cause. So far I have over 20 amazing prize/prize packages to give away from some of the coolest companies in the running world. Every $5 you donate to GGRF through my fundraiser will give you an entry into the giveaway, and every Friday two winners will be chosen and will get their choice of the prizes still remaining. I am so excited about how much GREAT STUFF has been donated. It has been a lot of work to organize but will be well worth it. Stay tuned for all the details!!!

Time to go pick up kids! How was your weekend? Did you have a long run?

I am envious. I am getting miles in but my pace is nearly DOUBLE yours. I admire the hard work you've put in to get where you're at. Congrats!

I'm headed to girls camp tomorrow myself. Can't wait.

Excited to see all the prizes and giveaways.

Your training is insane. I don't think I could ever run the mileage you do and still enjoy running. But that's why running is so perfect. It encompasses everyone perfectly.
