Girls Gotta Run/Chicago Marathon fundraising GIVEAWAY!

Here we go!! There are lots of prizes below to be given away - over $1000 worth of great stuff!!! I have been blown away by the generosity and support of so many great companies (and anticipate adding more prizes as we go along).

I am raising money for Girls Gotta Run Foundation (GGRF). GGRF helps support and empowers young female runners in Ethiopia. GGRF is helping young women in Ethiopia pursue their running dreams, and at the same time helping them to find pride, self-respect, confidence, a sense of well-being and personal power. Training allows the girls to stay in school, avoid early marriage, and to enhance their personal economic opportunities. The girls also become role models in their families and communities to other women and younger girls. I am a proud board member of GGRF!

I am running the Chicago Marathon on October 13 and have decided to raise money for GGRF in conjunction with that.

I have gotten loads of great prizes donated to give away. A wonderful cause, great prizes - woohooo!

I am keeping it simple! Every $5 you donate will give you one entry into the giveaway (minimum donation of $10). Every Friday I will draw three winners at random and they will get their pick of whatever prizes are remaining, and this will continue until the prizes are gone. If you donate more than $10, you can win more than once! Once you win I will remove one of your entries from the pot, but your other entries will remain.

To enter, all you need to do is -

GO HERE AND DONATE at least $10 and then leave me a comment below and let me know how much you donated (or you can email me at fullhouse mom at gmail dot com and let me know). Donations will be verified.

****If you go to the Girls Gotta Run Foundation website and commit to being a monthly donor you will get 50 entries in the giveaway. Leave a comment and let me know if you do!! Monthly donors are greatly needed. *******

Now the fun stuff!! Here (in random order) are all the great prizes and the companies who have donated. Please check out their websites, Facebook pages, Twitter, etc. and show them some love.

STILL AVAILABLE - i AM Shirts - Funny Running Shirts! Matt at i AM sent me one of his t-shirts to try, and this is an awesome t-shirt! I don't wear many t-shirts but this is one I will wear a lot. It is soft, women-cut, v-neck, fitted but not too-fitted, and I love the design! The winged shoe is my favorite. :) I have worn and washed it multiple times and it just keeps getting softer. Here is the one I chose -

***(Both women's shirts have already been claimed by a lucky winner). For this giveaway i AM Shirts is donating TWO men's shirts and TWO women's shirts, and the winners will get their choice of size and design of funny running shirts.

STILL AVAILABLE- Races2Remember is a company I have supported for several years. Their personalized bibs and pace bands are just awesome. Races2Remember is Molly & Al, a husband and wife running team in Kansas City.  They started Races2Remember as a way to help other people express why they run and help them hit their goals.  They're honored and excited to help me reach my fundraising goals for Girls Gotta Run Foundation.  Here is a pic of the great bib they made when I ran the NYC Marathon. I have also used their race-specific pace bands for several of my races and they were super helpful.

I ran with this on my back. I got A LOT of comments. :)
***Races2Remember is donating winner's choice of ANY ONE ITEM from their website (excluding cheering signs)!

You can find Races2Remember on Facebook and Twitter.

STILL AVAILABLE- I have two awesome books that have been donated by husband and wife authors Sarah Lorge Butler and Charles Butler. Sarah's book is "Run Your Butt Off". From her website, "Run Your Butt Off! is founded on the simple concept that in order to lose weight, calories burned must exceed calories consumed. No gimmicks, no shortcuts, no silver bullets can circumvent that weight-loss reality." This book is a fun read but also has a lot of great information and inspiration, whether you want to lose 5lbs or 50+.

And if you haven't read the story of Matt Long, you are missing out.

From the book's website - "On the morning of December 22, 2005, hard-driving athlete and hardened firefighter Matt Long was cycling to work through Manhattan in the early morning when he was struck by and sucked under a 20-ton bus making an illegal turn. The injuries he sustained pushed him to the brink of death. Miraculously, more than 40 operations and months later, Matt was able to start his recovery. Searingly emotional and incredibly honest, The Long Run is the account of Matt’s determined fight through fear, despair, loneliness, and intense physical and psychological pain, as he constantly strives to reclaim the life he once had."

***I have one hardcover copy of The Long Run to give away and one copy of Run Your Butt Off to be given as a prize pack.

STILL AVAILABLE- PRO-TEC ATHLETICS was founded January 1991 in Los Angeles, California and began with one product, the Knee Pro-Tec patellar tendon strap. Owner, and former professional volleyball player, Jeff Rodgers first began selling to the volleyball market. As the company grew, it expanded its product offering and reached out to new markets. The running market became the next frontier and Pro-Tec quickly capitalized on an opportunity manufacturing specialized supports for running injuries.   Located in Redmond, Washington, Pro-Tec Athletics offers over 59 products, ranging from highly effective orthopedic supports to breakthrough innovations in hot/cold and massage therapy.

Part of my success in running high mileage and staying injury free comes from taking care of my muscles after EVERY run. One of my favorite tools that I found several months ago is the Orb by PRO-TEC ATHLETICS.  Multi-directional roll provides focused deep-tissue massage to target areas. The Orb has made a huge difference in my tight hamstrings and I have recommended it to several athletes that I coach who also struggle with tight hammies. I have found it to be much more effective than the foam rollers I was using.
I truly use this every day, sometimes twice
I also really like the massage roller by PRO-TEC. The Roller Massager stretches muscles and tendons, breaks down soft tissue adhesion, and soothes tight fascia while increasing blood flow and circulation to the soft tissues. This is another tool I use after every run (and before most runs on my calves, and sometimes again at night!) and it hurts SO good. I have tried many similar rollers and this is my favorite.
*** PRO-TEC ATHLETICS has donated SIX Orbs and SIX massage rollers, which will be given away in combo packs. So six lucky people will win an Orb and a massage roller! How awesome is that? :) (FIVE of these have already been won).

You can find PRO-TEC ATHLETICS on Facebook and on Twitter!

STILL AVAILABLE- Nuun- I know there are lots of Nuun fans out there, and staying hydrated (especially this time of year!) is super important for athletes. From their website -  Nuun Active Hydration is a line of electrolyte enhanced drink tablets designed to keep you optimally hydrated wherever your active lifestyle and athletic endeavors take you. You sweat, Nuun replenishes. Packed with electrolytes, light flavor, no sugars or carbs, and portable, Nuun Active Hydration is the perfect sports drink. The electrolytes found in Nuun will help alleviate cramps, help muscles function, communicate and burn energy efficiently.
***Nuun has donated TWO of their mixed four packs!

You can check them out on Facebook and Twitter.

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN WON BE THREE LUCKY WINNERS!!!!- Allied Medal Hangers makes THE coolest hangers for your race medals! They have a huge selection and also do really awesome custom designs. Here is the one I have hanging on my wall -

They have some new "Magical" Disney designs (I LOVE the "Dreams Do Come True" one!) and the one I have is pretty full so I may be needing another soon! :) These are sturdy, quality, beautiful medal hangers.

***Allied Medal Hangers has donated THREE medal hangers to this giveaway. Three different winners will have their choice of any standard design offered on the website or $60 towards their own custom designed medal hanger. (All of these has already been claimed by lucky winners)

Say hi to them on Facebook!

STILL AVAILABLE- Got hair? If you do and you are active, Sweaty Bands are a must have. They have a HUGE selection of colors, prints, styles and sizes to keep your hair in place and out of your face. Here is just one of many, many bands offered at Sweaty Bands.
I love the sparkly green!
***Sweaty Bands has donated one two-pack of Sweaty Bands to one lucky winner!

If you are fan, follow them on Facebook and Twitter.

STILL AVAILABLE-Tailwind is a fantastic sports drink/fuel that advertises itself as "all you need, all day, really". Here are some of the great things about Tailwind -

Potent energy and electrolytes—no need to juggle gels, pills, or chews
Easy on your gut, so you can push the pace and feel great
Tastes great hour after hour so you can drink and fuel from start to finish
Hydration pack friendly! Dissolves easily and rinses clean
Natural and Gluten-Free ingredients and organic flavors.

***Tailwind Nutrition is going to give one lucky winner a LARGE BAG of TAILWIND (that's 3lbs - 50 servings!) of their choice of flavor (I LOVE the lemon).

You can find Tailwind on Facebook and Twitter!

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY TWO LUCKY WINNERS- I may be a bit biased because they sponsor me, but the truth is that I have LOVED Brooks since before they sponsored me and it was "love at first step".  I love the shoes, (read my review of the PureFlows and the PureFlow 2's), I love the clothes and I love the Run Happy message!

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED by two lucky winners!***Brooks has donated TWO AWARDS CERTIFICATES that can be used on the Brooks website for a FREE PAIR OF SHOES!!! Free running shoes!
Get more Run Happy by following Brooks on Facebook and Twitter!

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN WON BY A LUCKY WINNER- Yurbuds! If you like to listen to music or books on tape when you are running, riding, or working out, good earbuds that actually stay in your ear and are sweat/water proof are a must. Good sound is nice too! Yurbuds are awesome, and since they were designed by athletes, for athletes, they are great for running. I have tried lots of different earbuds (most of which promise that they will not fall out during exercise) and Yurbuds are one of the only ones that I can actually run in without them falling out. They are super comfortable (and cool!) too. :)

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED by a lucky winner!!!! ***Yurbuds has donated ONE PAIR OF YURBUDS and ONE IPHONE/IPOD ARM HOLDER to be given away as a package.

Check out Yurbuds on Facebook and Twitter!

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN WON BY A LUCKY WINNER- I have run in compression calf sleeves for over two years now and am also a big believer in the benefits of compression for recovery. As I wrote about in a recent review, I really love the RecoFit products. Their products are very high quality and perform super well. Susan Eastman Walton started RecoFit when she couldn't find a compression sleeve product that fit what she was looking for. RecoFit has made it possible for her to perform better, recover faster and stay injury free, and it can help you do the same.

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY A LUCKY WINNER ***RecoFit has donated ONE PAIR of their awesome CALF COMPRESSION SLEEVES for one lucky winner!

These calf sleeves are made from Oxygenation-enhancing Resistex Carbon-based Fabric, disperse heat and moisture, feature gradient compression, are left and right leg specific, are designed and developed in Boulder, CO, are made in the USA, deliver oxygen faster to mucles, reduce damaging muscular vibration, enhance performance, delay fatigue and improve recovery.

You can follow RecoFit on Facebook and Twitter.

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN WON BY A LUCKY WINNER- Taking care of your muscles is super important in staying injury free and Tiger Tail makes some great products to help you do that.  The Tiger Tail rolling massager is a hand-held foam roller that helps prevent injury, increase performance and speed recovery. The signature orange and black Tiger Tail is known world-wide and used by professionals, amateurs and fitness lovers of all kinds for its speedy effectiveness and performance.

The Tiger Ball Massage-on-a-Rope is another massage product that is used by putting the ball over your shoulder and leaning up against a wall or chair. You can also use it lying down on a bed or floor, or sitting down on the chair or floor. If you've ever used a tennis ball to work out your spots, you're going to LOVE Tiger Ball. The rope keeps the ball from running away so you spend your time massaging, not chasing. The density of the ball is also incredible for trigger point release.

THIS PRIZE HAS BEEN CLAIMED BY ONE LUCKY WINNER ***Tiger Tail has donated one Tiger Tail massage roller and one Tiger Ball Massage-on-a-Rope, which will be given away as one prize pack.

Check out all of the great info on their website Tiger Tail has on treating muscles and injuries and using trigger point.

Prizes will continue to be added as they are donated, and I will update each week after that week's winners have chosen their prizes.

Huge thanks to all of the awesome companies who have donated, and thank you in advance to all of you who support Girls Gotta Run Foundation!!

GO HERE AND DONATE at least $10 and then leave me a comment below and let me know how much you donated (or you can email me at fullhouse mom at gmail dot com and let me know). Every $5 is one entry.
