Wednesday shorts

I am a sucker for anything related to moms/kids and I love anything and everything that has to do with the Olympics. (I can't even say how much I can't wait to watch the Olympics this summer! I am usually not much of a TV watcher but I will be watching as much as I can!)

My friend Jenny told me about this commercial a week or so ago and then I finally saw it yesterday. I love this!! Take the two minutes to watch it, even if you have already seen it. You won't be sorry (although you may need a tissue!)

I had a fun run this morning. It was en eight mile "extremely easy" day (I haven't run single digits in a while!) and I ran the first five miles with Jenny up the canyon across the road. It was loads of fun to run on the dirt, and while the giant hills are never easy on the way in/up the canyon, coming out is a blast. And, we didn't get eaten by a bear or a mountain lion and didn't get charged by a moose, so that is good news (we have seen all three of those animals less than two miles from our front door up the canyon). Jenny had to get ready for work so I was planning on running the last three miles on the road by myself, but as we came out of the canyon another friend was running by, so I joined up with her for my last three easy miles.

I am still working on getting over this cold, but my body felt good today on my run and it was fun to run with friends.

Josh took me on a date last night to see the Avengers. I was really excited to see it, but despite my excitement and best of intentions, I just could not make myself stay awake. Sitting still after 8pm in a dark, comfortable place leaves me powerless to keep my eyes open. In my defense, I am up at 4am every day and I am running 80 miles this week. I did enjoy the beginning and the end of the movie, and the few spots in the middle I saw. And Josh loved it!

Today is May 9, which means I have exactly ONE MONTH until the Utah Valley Marathon. That's soon!!!!!

Are you a night person? I AM SO NOT. :) I am definitely early to bed, early to rise.

Happy Wednesday!

That was a sweet, sweet movie clip! And it was sort of like the Avengers, you know, in a way. I just saw The Avengers and posted on it. (I went into the movie wanting to be Iron Man, but came out wanting to be the Hulk.)

night owl here.....which is only a bit ironic as I'm now 7 years into a 2nd career as an 8th grade Social Studies teacher, a job which requires me to be a morning person. Guess that's why God made coffee!!!!!

And that commercial......oh my.......think I got some dust in my eyes over here! Of course, as a dad, I feel like there might be a need for a bit of equal time, but I fully know and appreciate just how much my wife does every day!

ok...now I'm crying at school on my lunch break...

Night owl here too like Bill...but I love how much I get accomplished when I get up early!

NOT a night person at all, though I have to fake it sometimes to spend time with Dan (who is). I loved the video, and we're very excited for the Olympics in our house too.

I saw this commercial Monday and it will get me every time I watch it from here on out, I'm sure!

Glad you came back from the canyon run in one piece--just read an article in Outside mag about bear attacks in Yellowstone...

I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who's fallen asleep in the theater. I am definitely a morning person. I am also not a crier, and that video made me cry! I love being a mom.

i too am super excited about the olympics and hadn't seen that commercial, so loved it!
I am like Terzah, not a night owl but years of being married to one have left me caught in the middle between wanting to hang out and wanting to sleep, always resulting in not enough sleep.

I loved the video!!! And YAY for runs with friends :)

I think I'm probably more of a night owl, but I've trained myself to be sort of middle of the road. I guess I'm just getting old now because it is hard to keep my eyes open past 10 p.m.

Can't wait to watch the Olympics this summer!!!

Thank you for the video and yes I needed tissues. As a mom of children who compete at a high level, I can relate to the entire process and nothing is better than watching a child excel at something the love.

I was always a go to bed early until I spend 10 days on the west coast a couple of weeks ago and now I cannot readjust.

Thank you again for another very inspiring post.

Thanks for sharing the video! Big tears here.

I used to be a night person. Than I had kids and they sucked the life out of me. LOL. But you have a whole team of kids and I shouldn't even say that! LOL.

I'm a GIANT Olympics nut and Olympic themed souvenier collector. I love watching the track and field events, and gymnastics. In 1996 I won a coca cola contest on the radio, and got to run with the Olympic Torch. I have a real working torch and picture proof I really carried it :). (My son told his teacher his mom was in the Olympics..hehehe.)
In 2008 we were in China and Hong Kong with middle school kids, and I bought some Bejing coins and Olympic postage stamps book in Hong Kong.

You sound just like my wife... (Sitting still after 8pm in a dark, comfortable place leaves me powerless to keep my eyes open.) she's just like that.

I'm passing along this blog post to my boyfriend to read. He swears I'm the only person in the world that can't stay awake for movies. hahah! I'm the SAME way, nothing can keep me awake late these days.

I'm not a night person either, never have been. Years and years ago I fell asleep during a Grateful Dead concert. How lame am I!! I'm solar-powered, I guess. I like to go to bed when the sun goes down.

And my younger son and I are suckers for the Olympics. He's a year-round swimmer, so we always look forward to watching swimming and diving, but he loves track events too!
