Ok, so it was only a balmy 7 degrees when I left my house at 6am and I didn't get to soak up any sun, but there was a HUGE, almost full moon lighting up everything (I seriously almost didn't even need my Knuckle Lights), the ground was completely clear of ice and snow, and it felt so, so great and free to be running outside, that I didn't even mind the single digit temps.
I enjoyed every minute and every mile, and came home with my body and soul smiling. It was just what I needed.

Yeah!!
Being outside just makes a difference...it just does;)
I ran outside today too! It's so beautiful! I don't like the cold wind, but I was happy to be outside.
I ran outside this morning as well! It's amazing the difference it makes to get OUTSIDE and enjoy the fresh air! So glad you were able to get out there and enjoy it too ;)!
Sounds like a great day! I could handle single degrees....with some face protection :)
SEVEN degrees?!!!????? I can't even wrap my mind around that...
Whatever makes you Run Happy, though. :)
Wowzers, COLD by you!! Congrats on a great run. I totally know that feeling and your post made me smile.
What a lovely post. :)
Soulfood for sure! In our family we think soul shine is better than sunshine! Glad you got your fill!
So glad you got outside!! It makes a huge difference. And don't worry--those 7 degree temps can't hold out much longer up there. It's starting to feel springlike here, and it will creep steadily northward.
Perhaps mean of me to say, but I ran 16 miles today in 60 degree weather. Winter skipped michigan this year.
We're supposed to hit 80 this week... I'm not ready for THAT warm of temps! Glad you were able to run outside. Stay warm!!
Spring is coming!! So glad you got a little freedom from the treadmill. I love the comment by LA runner. Oh how I long for the days when I couldn't wrap my mind around running in 7 degree weather! Hope it keeps warming up!
It's been really hot in Cape Town and I'm loving running in the sun, but I know the summer is coming to an end and the winter is just around the corner
I love it when a run is like that! The feeling you describe is wonderful.
Love running outside! I'm totally craving a nice, sunny outdoor run, but it's currently snowing, so I think I'll be hitting up the treadmill today.
Ahh hopefully this means nicer weather is in store for you guys!
I didn't get up this morning and run, not that I normally do, but I thought about a Wednesday morning run... body not ready for it... Winter here? we get a bit of wind and rain and it can be cold on the mountain, but snow! very little and I go looking for it on top of the mountain when the storms roll in from the ocean...
I love running outside. This morning I finally got back on the road and the smile wouldn't leave my face. Almost a month to go!
