5K PR!! Woo hoo!!!

I ran our local 5K this morning. It was not a big race, but we do have some pretty good local runners who showed up.

I finished FIRST female, and third overall with a time of 22:00 (7:05 average pace). Woo hoo! My last 5K time was 23:33, and then I did a 22:23 for my virtual 5K (on the treadmill). I was super happy with my time and my finish, but even better than how I did is.....

My stinking rotten super awesome totally incredible ELEVEN year old, WON THE ENTIRE RACE with a time of 21:15. There were a lot of kids running in the race and all of them took off crazy fast at the beginning, and every single one of them died within a mile or so. Every single one of them but my Shane. He kept going, and going... As I was picking people off the last mile I kept saying, "Is that my rotten kid up there?" and everyone would laugh. He is unbelievable and just oozing with athletic ability. I am so proud!

They are going to call with the official results and prizes, but it sounds pretty awesome to say that my son and I were the first male and female finishers. Yeah baby!

And to add to my proudness, my awesome 13 year old came and ran as well, and he finished in 25:26 and beat his PR by over five minutes. Yup, I am one proud mama.

Here we are back at home, enjoying victory!

Congratulations!!! I am just very new to my running journey and so far my longest distance is 3 miles! You are an inspiration! My husband and I are also in the process of a domestic adoption and I love your other blog as well. For some reason it doesn't work anymore for me...or maybe it is now private? :) Meredith from CT

Well done!! Sounds like a great day.

I see that your family blog private again. Bummer! I hope everything is okay!

I came across a blog today with a widget called the daily mile. It made me think of you and wonder if you've heard of it because you keep track of your miles on your sidebar. (:

Way to go all three of you. Great poses. That is so cool that you boys run with you. I would give any thing to have some one from my family running with me. But I run solo in this family.
