Not in

The lottery for the ING NYC Marathon was this morning and I was NOT one of the lucky to get in this year. Oh well! I am now one year closer to my guaranteed entry. Josh didn't get in either (if one of us had and not the other, the one who didn't get in through the lottery would have signed up to run for charity so we could do it together). Anyone out there get "in" today?? :)

And here is a funny for you... We had the Nordictrack guy here yesterday fixing my treadmill. (It was making a noise but still running really well. I guess someone at some point had tightened something too tightly when it was put together and after over 500 miles the too-tight-thingy  wore something else out... obviously I am very technical here). The customer service was great and my treadmill is all fixed and ready to go again.

The funny part is that the guy checked the calibration on it before he fixed it and said that I had been running FASTER than I thought I was. He said when he had it set to 12 miles an hour it was actually going 12.9. Sheesh!! So my 22:23 5K time for the Jelly Bean virtual 5K should be even faster than it was. I thought I was running about 7:13 miles... wonder how fast I was really going?

I guess that is better than knowing I was actually running SLOWER than I thought though, right??

Hope you all have a happy Wednesday. I am off in a little bit to go watch my hubby coach and my two eldest compete in our local high school track meet. Then I am going to an orchestra concert for my fifth graders and maybe a baby shower for a friend if there is time. Whew!

Running is going well... we did five miles this morning and have nine miles planned for the morning. I am getting more and more excited for Ragnar.

more soon!

Aww, I'm sorry you didn't get it!! I didn't register for NYC's lottery but I registered for Nike Women's Marathon and I got into it today! I'm so pumped!

I didn't get in either :( But I am running for charity, so I guess it really didn't matter.

Crazy about the treadmill. I should probably get mine tuned up. We wore straight through a bolt (no clue how or where it's from) and it makes some crazy noises.

Bummer about NYC. That is probably the only "big one" that looks enticing to me... someday. My treadmill is broke right now, but repair guy can't come until next week... I hope he says the same thing about mine!! :)

Like you said one more year closer to a guaranteed entry unless we lived in NY and ran 12 of Road Runners NY races this year to guarantee a spot for next year. I didn't need the big Al Roker show before they starting rolling names. Which didn't seem like that many names to me either. Anywho I think my husband is relieved!

Bummer you didn't get in. I haven't heard from anybody that HAS gotten in so it looks like you're not alone.

I have *always* wondered about my treadmill. A 10:00 pace can seem tough sometimes but outside I'm running much faster paces with no problem. I figure it's a good thing, like you said, if you are going faster than you think. Probably doing a lot more accidental tempo runs. :)

That is so an awesome problem to have with your treadmill!!! What is Ragnar?

I also wonder about my treadmill. I can easily run faster paces outside and going the equivalent pace on the treadmill at the gym seems easier than at home.

How was the track meet? Josey was up there, though his track team is struggling. I will not go to a track team until we get some nice weather.

I mean track "meet" until we get some nice weather. When will that happen?

That sucks about NYC, but funny story about your crazy fast treadmill...

I never even got around to entering the lottery in time! Your right, though, one year closer to getting in!

NYC, sigh someday for me too.

Holy cow 12 on the treadmill... like 7.5 is an 8 min mile, can't imagine what 12 is

Sorry to hear about NYC. And, that's crazy about the treadmill. You're a speed demon! :-)

Urgh, I'm sorry. I didn't get into the Nike Women's either. I'm not sure I like this lottery business - kind of stressful.
